A row of houses in London
Happy weekend and hello from London! I’ve only been here a little more than 24 hours and I already feel so relaxed and happy and inspired by the city – I just love London so very much. Apart from that, this week has been interesting with a movie visit and just generally time in my new city!

Sufragettes

1 | I went to see ‘Sufragettes’ with my colleague on Tuesday and it’s SUCH a good movie! It’s not really feel-good cinema, but it was seriously amazing. The story deals with the sufragettes movement in Britain. It is pretty grueling and thought-provoking to realize how much the sufragettes suffered to get the right to vote. In times when less and less people actually go out to vote it is definitely a great remember. Also, Carey Mulligan is wonderful in the movie. Go watch it!

A new place to call home

2 | Spending the first few nights at my new flat feels really good as well. I’ve only moved in this week and already feel at home, just as it should be. It’s strange how a place that is still new and unfamiliar can be a home in such a short amount of time. If only moving didn’t mean spending so much money though!

3 | I’m really into simple lunches and dinners at the moment – just some cheese, wine, baguette and a few tomatoes. It doesn’t take a long time to prepare, feels like such a treat and doesn’t cost a lot of money. Triple win. It’s so funny how we as people go through these different phases when it comes to eating. Sometimes I want nothing but bread and grapes, other times I want to cook elaborate meals. Anybody know the feeling?

London and beyond

4 | I’ve been spending my London time so far with walking around, visiting a few shops and drinking lots of coffee, perfect days. I love the feeling that I still ‘know’ the city. Therefore I don’t have to go out and visit the sights, I can act like a local (nothing against seeing the sights though). Tonight I’m heading to the ‘100 years of Vogue’ exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. I’m really excited about that! The Portrait Gallery is my favourite museum in London (a little tip if you’re ever in town).

No links this week because I’m posting from my phone. I’ll be back with a big London round-up next week though! Hope you have a great weekend, no matter whether you’re at home or on the road.

Thank you! I like London in the rain, but that would be even better of course :)
