Buying for three seasons – that’s a trick one of my friends (you actually met her in this lovely edition of Everlasting Apparel) told me about recently and I love it! It’s actually the easiest concept: Whenever you think about buying something (apart from winter jackets and that kind of jazz), consider whether you would be able to wear this item in three different seasons of the year. Would you be able to wear the nice dress with tights in winter? What about that T-shirt, would it look good under a cardigan? I’ve tried incorporating this concept whenever I go shopping now and it has kept me from buying unnecessary items (flimsy summer dresses etc).
Will you try shopping for three seasons? And do you have any other tricks on how to make wise shopping decisions?
